Wright's Double Fold Bias Tape is sold by the 2.75m (3 yard) package. This double fold tape measures 13mm or 0.5 inches wide. The term "Double Fold" means each raw edge has been pre-pressed toward the center to give a nice finished edge. Then the entire tape is pre-pressed a second time right down the middle. (Unlike Single Fold which has no center crease.) The width of the tape after all of this pressing and folding is about 13mm (1/2"). It is designed to fold precisely over the raw edge of your project showing as a 13mm (1/2") stripe or trim on the front and back side. Of course, having been bias cut (diagonal), it lies snug and flat around edges and corners to provide a clean finished edge on your project. Normally it is stitched on along the long edges but with application of fusible tape, it may be ironed on then stitched.
Bias tape is normally used to trim around necklines, armholes, waistbands and other raw edges of garments. It is also used to create Hong Kong seam finishes on garments and attractive trim on pillows, hot pads, towels, and many other projects. It can even be used as ties or lacing on aprons, etc. and even to create casings for elastic or cording. This is a very versatile product!
