Just line up the curve that best matches your pattern and this ruler lets you draw a smooth, professional curve on your pattern. The straight edge allows you to mark straight lines with the same ruler. This is an incredibly handy ruler for pattern alteration and drafting. It is the best one we have found. Ruler measures 15 cm (6 inches) wide by 50 cm (20 inches) long and has small hole centered in the top curve end for hanging. Red markings are easy to read and don't wear off. This french curve ruler is long enough to mark hip and waist curves but has a tight enough curve to mark armscyes and necklines (even very small ones)!
